IND vs AUS Women: Indian Women’s Team gets off to a winning start! Defeated Australia by 21 runs by DLS method
The three match T20 series between India vs Australia has started today. The first match of this series was played, in this first match the Indian bowlers performed superbly and in the second innings too, India started strongly but rain intervened and the Indian team eventually won the match by 21 runs in the DLS method. With this, the Indian team has taken a 1-0 lead in the series.
Team India took five wickets of the Australian team in 10 overs. Arundhati Reddy dismissed Phoebe Litchfield on the first ball of the 10th over. Lichfield scored 26 off 19 balls. Australia have scored 102 runs for the loss of five wickets in 12 overs. Arundhati Reddy took 4 wickets for 22 runs and the Indian women bowled out Australia for 133 runs in 18 overs in a brilliant performance. Australia’s Georgia Wareham top scored with 30 off 19 balls.

In reply, India were 50/1 in 5.1 overs before rain halted play in Colombo, prompting the restart of the match. However, India were in the lead by DLS and won the match by 21 runs. Chasing a target of 134, India got off to a good start as Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana made their intentions clear from the start. He was cautious for the first few overs, but once he settled down, he started attacking the bowlers.

Sophie Molyneux broke the opening partnership by dismissing Shefali for 21 off 11 balls, but by then the damage was done. Jemima Rodrigues then kept the momentum going with some excellent fours, ensuring India were ahead of the DLS par score before rain interrupted play.
The second match of this series will be played on February 19. This match is going to be important for both teams. Because if the Indian team wins the match, the series will be won, while if the Australian team wins the match, the series will be tied.
