IND VS BAN : India dominate day 2, Jadeja and Bumrah strike – Tezzbuzz

From 26/3, Bangladesh have reached 112 for 8 at the Tea Break on Day 2 in Chennai.

Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das put on a fine 51-run stand for the sixth wicket, before Ravindra Jadeja sent both of them back in the hut. Jasprit Bumrah gets his third wicket right at the stroke of Tea.

Earlier, Akash Deep’s double blow has reduced Bangladesh to 26/3 after India were bowled out for 376 in their first innings. Ravichandran Ashwin top scored for the hosts with 113, while Ravindra Jadeja (86) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (56) made fifties.

Total seven wickets fell in the first session. It was Jasprit Bumrah, who drew the first blood after ending a Shadman Islam’s miserable stay at the crease.

Akash Deep in the last over before the lunch removed Zakir Hasan and Mominul Haque in the span of two deliveries to put India on top.

In the morning session, Hasan Mahmud (5/83) become the first Bangladesh bowler to bag a five-wicket haul in India. The 24-year-old reached the milestone on Day 2 morning in Chennai after he dismissed Jasprit Bumrah.

India has been bowled out for 374 runs. However, it was senior pro Taskin Ahmed (3/55), who got the new ball talking in the morning. First up, he dismissed Ravindra Jadeja (86) to end the 199-run stand for the seventh wicket.

Akash Deep swinged his bat, was dropped by Shakib off Taskin but was removed by Taskin with skipper Najmul Shanto taking a good catch at the mid-off. Taskin then got the prized wicket of centurion R Ashwin, who received a standing ovation from his home crowd.
