After winning the toss, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer said, ‘This is a do or die match for us and we will play with the same mindset. The fearless manner in which our team played cricket in the first two matches will remain the same even today. Till now we have not been able to implement our plans properly. Two changes have been made in the team. Varun and Harshit are out, in their place Washington Sundar and Prasidh Krishna have been included in the playing eleven.

BCCI told why Varun and Harshit are out
Immediately after the toss, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted on social media the reason for dropping Harshit Rana and Varun Chakraborty from the team. BCCI said that Harshit Rana and Varun Chakraborty suffered hamstring injuries during the third T20 match played against England at Trent Bridge. The medical team has examined both the players, after which they have been ruled out of the fourth and fifth T20 matches.
