IND vs NAM: Suspense on Abhishek Sharma’s play against Namibia, Tilak Verma told

Delhi. The Indian team management will take a decision before the match on Abhishek Sharma’s playing in India’s second group match against Namibia in Delhi on Thursday. Indian batsman Tilak Verma told in the press conference on the eve of the match that Abhishek has been discharged from the hospital.

Tilak said, “Abhishek has been discharged from the hospital. He had a stomach problem so he was admitted to the hospital. After seeing his condition today, we will take a decision tomorrow whether he will play or not. We still have one more day to take a decision.”

Abhishek was admitted to a private hospital in Delhi due to stomach infection. On Tuesday, India’s assistant coach Ryan ten Deschate had said, “Abhi (Abhishek) still has some stomach problems, but we are hopeful that he will recover and be ready for this match.”

Abhishek Sharma could not open his account in his first match of the T20 World Cup and was out on the very first ball. After this Abhishek did not come to field. Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah also could not play the match against America due to ill health.

However, Bumrah took part in the practice session on Tuesday and bowled well. Washington Sundar has also joined the Indian team. If Abhishek does not play the match against Namibia, then Sanju Samson can be seen opening the innings in his place along with Ishan Kishan.
