India National Cricket Team vs New Zealand National Cricket Team: in India and New Zealand The first match of the three ODI series between them was played today at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara. India defeated New Zealand by 4 wickets in this match. After losing the toss earlier, New Zealand scored 300 for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 50 overs and set a target of 301 for India. Chasing the target, India hit a six in the 49th over to register victory and take a 1-0 lead in the series. From India By Virat Kohli Top scored 93 runs while Shubman Gill also scored a half century. This is India’s first win in 2026.

Batting first, New Zealand got off to a good start. Devon Conway (56 off 67 balls) and Henry Nicholls (62 off 69 balls) added 117 runs for the first wicket. Will Young (12) and Glenn Phillips (12) were dismissed cheaply. Captain Michael Bracewell was run out for 16 runs. However, Darryl, who came fourth, held on at the other end. He added 39 runs for the sixth wicket with Bracewell and 42 runs for the seventh wicket with Christian Clarke (24 not out). Kyle Jamieson remained unbeaten on 8 runs. Zachary Foulkes scored 1 run. For India, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Siraj and famous Krishna took 2 wickets each while Kuldeep Yadav took 1 wicket.

The match between India and New Zealand went into the 49th over. At one point India’s victory seemed inevitable and it seemed certain that Kohli would score a century and lead the team to victory. However, Kyle Jamieson dealt a blow to India by dismissing Kohli on the very first ball of the 40th over. Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed cheaply on the last ball of the same over. Shreyas Iyer was then dismissed in the 42nd over, leaving Team India in trouble. After Iyer’s departure, fast bowler Harshit Rana came into the field. Rana played a short but important innings of 29 runs. KL Rahul then combined with Washington Sundar to hit a six off the last ball of the 49th over to give India a 4 wicket win. KL remained unbeaten on 29 runs.
