Rohit Sharma admitted that he was sad to see the team being reduced to a minimum score of 46 runs on the second day of the first Test against New Zealand.

After the first day's play was canceled due to rain, Rohit won the toss and decided to bat on the second day. India's innings was limited to 31.2 overs and five batsmen could not even open their account. Rishabh Pant scored the most runs for India. Pant played an inning of 20 runs. While bowling for New Zealand, Matt Henry took five wickets.

Rohit said in the press conference after the second day's play, “As a captain, I am sad to see the score of 46 runs because the decision to bat first was mine. But there are one or two bad decisions a year.” Earlier, the minimum Test score of the Indian team was 75 runs which was made against West Indies in Delhi in 1987.

Regarding KL Rahul's batting position, he said that we do not want to change KL's batting position. He has made his place at number 6. So it has been decided to let him play at the same number. Same is the condition of Sarfaraz also. He is a middle order batsman, hence he was sent at number four. In such a situation, Virat expressed his desire to go at number three.
