According to intelligence, the team of Crime Branch of Ahmedabad city laid a well-planned trap and two suspicious persons were surrounded and searched. 8 tickets were recovered from them which they were selling at three times the price.

Based on specific intelligence received regarding illegal sale of tickets for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Final, a team of Ahmedabad City Crime Branch laid a well-planned trap. Vidyapeeth S.T. located in Osmanpura, Gujarat. During surveillance near the bus stand, two suspicious persons were surrounded and searched. The team recovered 8 match tickets from them. Investigation revealed that the accused had booked these tickets online in advance and were illegally selling them at three times the original price, demanding Rs 10,000 per ticket from cricket fans. Ahmedabad Crime Branch informed that the crime branch has seized all the tickets and has initiated legal proceedings against the two persons to further investigate any wider network involved in this racket.
