‌IND vs NZ | Twitter reacts to no-frills Pant switches to T10 action as Ajaz Patel sails around Chinnaswamy

The evolution of cricket from a leisurely pastime to a fast-paced, global sport has transformed not only the way it’s played but also how it’s celebrated across cultures. Rishabh Pant’s T10  action in whites resonated similarly amidst a dramatic Ajaz Patel over at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Despite the weather turning gloomy at the start of the fourth day’s action, new batter Rishabh Pant and overnight batter Sarfaraz Khan ensured no hiccups in the Indian batting order. The former played second fiddle to the latter who raced to his maiden Test century in the 57th over before switching gears in an assault. Left-arm orthodox spinner Ajaz was no exception as he was ripped apart in a dramatic 66th over.

Following a maiden over from Glenn Phillips, Pant opted for a no-holds approach by slogging a fuller, loopy delivery down the ground for a six on the 66th over’s first ball. A dot ball followed before the Delhi-based batter punished a slot delivery outside the stumps, over long on for a gigantic six. Subsequently, a couple of reviews from either team followed with either edge rescuing Pant from a potential lbw. Despite the survivals, Pant seemed unbothered and smacked a mistimed stroke that fell slightly short of Rachin Ravindra sliding from long on for a four. The Twitterverse keenly followed the dramatic over including a couple of sixes, a four and two reviews, and could not shy away from lauding Pant’s audacity.
