Hardik Pandya’s performance was poor in the match played in Mullanpur. While bowling, he scored 34 runs in 3 overs, but this time he could not take a single wicket. While batting, he could score only 20 runs in 23 balls. His performance with both bat and ball was disappointing in the second match.

The second ODI was played at the newly constructed Maharaja Yadavinder Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. In this match, India won the toss and decided to bowl first and invited South Africa to bat. The South African batted first and scored 213 runs. For South Africa, Quinton de Kock scored 90 runs off just 47 balls, hitting 7 sixes and 5 fours.

In reply, Tilak Verma (62 runs) played a good knock for India but the rest of the batsmen could not support him. Tilak Verma scored 62 runs. India could score only 162 runs and as a result lost the match by 51 runs.
