IND vs SA: Did the ticket money sink after the match was cancelled? BCCI official told the real thing

News India Live, Digital Desk: Indian fans are addicted to cricket. People book tickets weeks in advance, take leave from office and reach the stadium in the bitter cold, just to watch their favorite stars play. But imagine what will happen to that fan who goes to the stadium with a ticket worth thousands of rupees and instead of the match, he only gets to see dense fog? Something similar happened in the fourth T20 match between India and South Africa (IND vs SA). Dense fog prevented play from starting and ultimately the match had to be abandoned. But after this, a big question was in everyone’s mind – “Brother, will the ticket money be refunded or not?” Now Devjit Saikia has clarified the situation on behalf of BCCI. BCCI told the truth about ‘refund’. As soon as the umpires announced the decision of canceling the match, people started demanding refund on social media. Amidst this chaos, BCCI Joint Secretary Devajit Saikia broke the silence. He clearly explained that the process of ticket refund is not in the hands of BCCI. Saikia said, “Selling and refunding tickets is entirely the responsibility of the host state association i.e. the state cricket board where the match was being held.” He clarified that since the match was being hosted by the local association, the method and timing of returning the money would be decided by them. BCCI does not directly interfere in this, although the rules say that if even a single ball is not bowled, then a refund is made. So will the money be returned? Yes, cricket lovers do not need to worry too much. Usually, when a match is canceled without a single ball being bowled, the spectators get a full refund of the ticket money (except some internet charges). The State Association will soon announce its process and date. You just have to keep an eye on the online platform from where you booked the ticket. Cricket in the cold: Fun or punishment? This incident has also sparked a new debate. How appropriate is it to hold a night match in the cold and fog of December in North India? Thousands of spectators present in the stadium shivered from the cold, players came for warm-up but the visibility was so low that nothing could be seen. In such a situation, it is natural for the fans to be disappointed. At present, the excitement of this series between Team India and South Africa continues, but those who had bought tickets for this match, their eyes are now not on the score of the match but on the ‘refund notification’.
