Sri Lanka’s shaky start and struggle
The Sri Lankan team, which came to chase the target of 176 runs, suffered a big blow in the beginning, when captain Chamari Atapattu returned to the pavilion cheaply. After this, Hasini Perera and Imisha Dulani tried to handle the innings and a good partnership was also seen between the two. Perera played a responsible half-century, but Sri Lanka came under pressure due to continuous fall of wickets from the other end. The required run rate increased significantly in the last overs, which the team could not cope with.
Bowlers showed discipline
Indian bowlers performed disciplined throughout the match. By taking wickets at the right time, he prevented Sri Lanka from playing big shots. Especially in the death overs, the accurate line-length of the Indian bowlers completely turned the match in India’s favor. The result was that the Sri Lankan team could score only 160 runs and fell behind the target.

The balanced performance in all three departments, captaincy, batting and bowling, has indicated that the Indian team is moving in the right direction for the big tournament.
