IND vs ZIM 2nd T20: India will enter with the intention of winning the series, ‘do or die’ challenge in front of Zimbabwe
Harare: The second match of the T20 series between India and Zimbabwe will be played at Harare Sports Club on Saturday. In the first match, India had registered a spectacular victory by seven wickets. The young Indian team, captained by Shreyas Iyer, will once again enter the field with the intention of winning the series. On the other hand, for host Zimbabwe, this match will be like ‘do or die’, because with the defeat, the series will also be lost.
India dominated in the first match
In the first match of the series, the Indian team performed impressively in both the batting and bowling departments. India achieved the target of 126 runs by losing just three wickets with 40 balls remaining.
Young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi caught everyone’s attention by scoring his first international half-century in 19 balls. Whereas Ishan Kishan (35 runs) and captain Shreyas Iyer (28 not out) easily led the team to victory.
Bowlers laid the foundation of victory
Indian fast bowlers put pressure on Zimbabwe from the very beginning. Mayank Yadav took the wicket of Brian Bennett on the very first ball of the match and took two wickets for 18 runs. He was chosen ‘Player of the Match’ for his brilliant performance.
Apart from this, Prince Yadav also took two wickets, while Ravi Bishnoi and Shivam Dubey made important contributions and limited Zimbabwe to 125 runs for seven wickets.
Zimbabwe will have to make a strong comeback
Zimbabwe’s batting in the first match did not live up to expectations. After the initial setbacks, Wesley Madhevere (39), Tadivanashe Marumani (27) and Ryan Burl (26) put up some fight, but the team could not score big.
In the second match, captain Sikandar Raza’s team will hope for better performance from its top order. Whereas fast bowlers Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava will have to put pressure on the Indian batting by taking early wickets.
pitch and weather report
Both batsmen and bowlers are expected to get help on the Harare Sports Club pitch. The weather is expected to be clear. Teams batting first usually have the advantage on this ground, but India’s easy run chase in the first T20 indicated that it may remain easy to bat throughout the innings.
India has a chance to win the series
After the brilliant performance in the first match, the Indian team will enter the field with full confidence. If India wins the second match, it will take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. This will be the last chance for Zimbabwe to save the series.
