IND vs ZIM: The Indian cricket team will tour Zimbabwe in July, where a three-match T20 International series will be played between the two teams. Zimbabwe Cricket Board has officially announced this series. All matches will be played in Harare.
The first match of the series will be played on 23rd July while the second and third matches will be played on 25th and 26th July on consecutive days. In such a situation, the thrill of three matches in three days will be seen between the two teams.
The last T20 series between India and Zimbabwe was played in July 2024, in which India won 4-1. This time too, Team India is considered a strong contender but considering Zimbabwe’s recent form, the match could be interesting.
The last encounter between the two teams was in the Super-8 stage of the Men’s T20 World Cup in Chennai. In that match, Zimbabwean batsman Brian Bennett played a brilliant inning of 97 not out, although the team could not win.
Zimbabwe team will enter this series with good confidence. Recently he performed brilliantly in the T20 World Cup.
The team topped its group by defeating strong teams like Australia, Sri Lanka, Ireland and made it to the Super-8 without losing.
Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni described this series as special. He said that playing against a world champion team like India at home is a big opportunity for the players. This will give the team a chance to test its strength and perform better in future.
He also said that after the good performance in the World Cup, this series will prove to be a platform to boost confidence for the team. Besides, this will also strengthen the cricket relations between the two countries.
Meanwhile, BCCI has already announced that Zimbabwe will tour India in January 2027. During this period, a three-match ODI series will be played. The special thing is that this will be Zimbabwe’s first bilateral tour to India since 2002.
Overall, this T20 series to be held in July is considered important for both the teams, where young players will get a good opportunity to prove themselves.
