‌IND-W vs IRE-W | Rodrigues and top three outsmart Ireland as India clinch series on batting haven

Winning the toss and electing to pile runs on the board, India got off to a great start. The pair of Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal continued their good form with the bat as both batters consolidated 75 runs in ten overs. They got to their fifties, leading up to a 156 runs opening stand before the pair departed on back-to-back deliveries in the 19th and 20th over. Subsequently, Harleen Deol and Jemimah Rodrigues picked up from where their openers left, caressing the field with outstanding strokeplay and excellent running between the wickets. Known for their similar matching vibes off the field, both Rodrigues and Harleen showcased a similar trait in the field, racking up fifties to take Indian commanding. While Harleen fell for 89, Rodrigues went on to smash a century before Arlene Kelly outwitted both batters. The top four contributed 331 runs as India scored 370, their highest-ever in ODIs.

In response, Ireland got off to a decent start after surviving a lbw scare off Titas Sadhu in the first over. Sarah Forbes and Gaby Lewis orchestrated 32 runs together before a 45-run stand followed. Despite losing out on partners, Coulter Reilly kept the game hanging in balance as Laura Delany accompanied her in an 83-run fourth-wicket partnership. Reilly stretched herself to 80 off 113 balls before Titas cleaned her up in the 41st over. Delany fell on the immediate next over, making way for a 30-run stand. With the fall of wickets in the middle overs phase, the equation got out of hand for the Irish Women as they required 141 off the last three overs. Eventually, the visitors succumbed to the hefty target, managing 254 in 20 overs.
