With this, the Indian team has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. In the match being played at Narendra Modi Stadium, the Indian team batted first and scored 227 runs. In reply, New Zealand team could score only 168 runs.

The winning team of the recently concluded Women's T20 World Cup has avenged the defeat in the World Cup by defeating New Zealand. In the T20 World Cup, India had to face defeat from New Zealand in the first match itself. After which the Indian women's team could not reach the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. But by winning in the ODI, we have definitely soothed the pain of the fans.

The Indian team won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, Indians scored 227 runs. In which Shefali Verma scored 33, Yastika Bhatia scored 37, Jemimah Rodrigues 35, Tejal Hasbanis scored 42, Deepti Sharma scored 41 and Arundhati Reddy scored 14 runs. While bowling for New Zealand, Jess Kar took 3 wickets, Eden Carson took 2 wickets and Amelia Kar took 4 wickets.

In response, the New Zealand team that came to chase this target was reduced to 168 runs. In which Georgia scored 25, Lauren Down 26, Brook Halliday 39, Maddie Green 31 and Amelia Kar scored 25 not out. While bowling for the Indian team, Radha Yadav won the match by taking 3 wickets, Saima Thakor 2, Deepti Sharma 1, Arundhati Reddy 1 wicket. Deepti Sharma was given the Man of the Match award for her all-round performance.
