Inderjit Pratap Shahi All India Football Championship, Nepal defeated Kolkata 2-1

Kushinagar Rajapakad/Kushinagar: Nepal team entered the next round by winning the inaugural match of Raja Inderjit Pratap Shahi All India Football Competition by 2-1. College Manager and Maheshwar Pratap Shahi of Tamkuhi State started the game by introducing themselves to the players after cutting the ribbon. There will be a match between UP 11 vs PC Athletics Kolkata on Sunday.

The inaugural match of this competition, organized at the playground of Fateh Memorial Inter College, was held on Saturday between Uday Yuva Club Nepal and Young Yuva Club Kolkata. Despite a brilliant performance, both the teams could not score a goal till half-time. In the second half, Kolkata took a 1-0 lead due to a suicide goal by Nepal's defender. After which Nepal team showed better game and started attacking continuously. Jersey No. 5 and Jersey No. 15 of Nepal scored two consecutive goals one after the other to give the team a 2-1 victory. The judges of the game were Vishnu Paudwal Nepal, Rahmat Khan Gorakhpur, Prabhat Mishra and Khurshid Alam Kushinagar. Police station head Sriprakash Rai, president OP Singh, secretary Bhim Gupta, media in-charge PN Pandey, Baijnath Madheshiya, Rajkumar Verma, Sunil Mishra, Himmat Singh, Jitendra Singh Patel, Ajay Kumar Singh, Rajkumar Choubey, Anjani Singh, Govind Kishore Shahi, Mahesh Kushwaha, Suresh Paswan, etc. were present.
