India A captured the Duleep Trophy, won the title by defeating India C

Anantapur: India A defeated India C on Sunday and won the Duleep Trophy title. India A topped the points table with 12 points after three rounds. Due to which it managed to win the Duleep Trophy 2024 title. In the final round match, this team led by Mayank Agarwal defeated India C by 132 runs. In the last session of the match, India A's bowlers took 7 wickets and put the title in the team's bag.

India A, who entered the final round with six points from two matches, dominated the four-day match, three points behind India C, which had 09 points. With this win, India A got 12 points from three matches, which helped them reach the top after three matches and become the winner. Chasing a target of 350 runs on the last day, India C was all out for 217 in 81.5 overs, with Krishna taking three wickets for 50 runs in his 13.5 overs, which included the last wicket of the match.

At tea time, the match was in a nail-biting position with India C at 169 for three. Sudharsan and Ishan Kishan were at the crease and they needed 182 runs in the final session of about 30 overs. Kotian had Kishan (17) caught behind and then took the wicket of Abhishek Porel (0) in successive overs. He then dismissed Pulkit Narang (6). Earlier, Aqib Khan dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad for 44 while Vijaykumar Vaishakh was run out for 17.

Sudharsan played a brilliant innings of 111 runs off 206 balls with the help of 12 fours but he did not get any support from the other end. Krishna dismissed the Tamil Nadu left-hander in the 78th over to finally end India C's challenge. Aqib took the wicket of number four batsman Rajat Patidar (07) while Kotian's Mumbai teammate Shams Mulani dismissed Manav Suthar.

Karnataka fast bowler Krishna added two more wickets to his account in the final phase. He ensured a big win for his team by dismissing Anshul Kamboj and Tamil Nadu's main bowler Baba Indrajeet for zero. Earlier in the day, India A declared their innings at 286 for six after batting just two overs.

Riyan Parag (73) and Shashwat Rawat (53) hit half centuries and wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Kushagra contributed 42 runs to take India A's total lead to 349 runs.
