Four oil wells for one, our maths are different: Iran

Iran has warned of strong retaliation in case its oil infrastructure is damaged. This statement has come at a time when US President Donald Trump has talked about increasing pressure on Iran’s energy sector. Iran’s Vice President Ismail Saghab Esfahani wrote on Twitter on Sunday that if the blockade or any other action causes damage to their oil wells or other infrastructure, there will be a manifold response.

He said, “If any part of our infrastructure, especially oil wells, is damaged, we will ensure that similar infrastructure in countries supporting the attackers is damaged four times.” He further said, “Our maths are different, one oil well means the answer to four oil wells.”

This statement comes after Trump’s interview with Fox News, in which he said that if the pressure on Iran continues, it may be difficult for it to transport oil to storage or tankers. Trump also said that if this situation continues, there could be serious pressure on Iran’s pipelines in the next three days.
