India AI Impact Summit: Traffic Restrictions implemented in Delhi, diversion on these routes, advisory for passengers
Delhi. Traffic restrictions and diversions will remain in place on several major roads in the national capital on Friday afternoon due to “official requirements”, Delhi Traffic Police said in an advisory. The ‘India AI Impact Summit’ is being held in Delhi with the participation of over 500 global Artificial Intelligence (AI) leaders and over 100 government representatives, including over 20 Heads of State and Government.
The advisory said that traffic is likely to be affected on several major roads, especially in central and north Delhi areas, between 1 pm and 5.30 pm. According to this, these places include W-Point, ITO Chowk, BSZ Marg, JLN Marg, Rajghat Square, Shanti Van Square, Hanuman Mandir, ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Monastery Market, Chandgi Ram Akhara, Delhi Assembly, University Metro Station and North Campus of Delhi University.
The traffic police said ‘tow-away zones’ have been notified on several major roads to ensure smooth movement of vehicles. Traffic police said that traffic will also be affected on Outer Ring Road (from Salimgarh Bypass to Majnu Ka Tila), Mahatma Gandhi Marg (Inner Ring Road), Mall Road, University Road, Boulevard Road, Sham Nath Marg, Kela Ghat Marg, BSZ Marg, JLN Marg and IP Marg.
However, emergency vehicles will be allowed to pass. The traffic police advised commuters to avoid the affected routes during the restriction period and use alternative roads to minimize inconvenience.
