India alliance will contest elections together in Jharkhand, Congress-JMM on 70 seats, RJD and Left on 11 seats.

Jharkhand elections: Politics has intensified after the announcement of the date of assembly elections in Jharkhand. An agreement has been reached on seat sharing among the parties of the ruling India alliance. Chief Minister Hemant Soren said, India Alliance will fight the upcoming assembly elections together. Congress and JMM will field their candidates on 70 out of 81 seats. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has reached Ranchi to discuss seat sharing.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced the alliance at his official residence in Ranchi on Saturday. He said, India alliance will contest elections together. After discussions with allies, it has been decided that Congress and JMM will field their candidates on 70 out of 81 seats. The Chief Minister has not yet revealed how many seats JMM and Congress will contest.

He further said that seat sharing talks are going on with alliance partners RJD and Left parties for the remaining 11 seats. Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced seat sharing in the presence of Congress' Jharkhand in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir. However, representatives of RJD and Left parties were not present on this occasion.
