India and Britain are the new AI superpowers of the world, Rishi Sunak praised PM Modi and also mentioned the test ranking.

News India Live, Digital Desk: Former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has termed India and the United Kingdom (UK) as the world’s emerging ‘AI Superpowers’. Speaking at a special event organized by the Indian High Commission in London, Sunak said that both the countries are leading the world in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). During this, he not only discussed technology and security, but also jokingly mentioned the ICC Test ranking while adding spice to the cricket rivalry between India and England. India’s dominance in Stanford AI Index. Citing the globally prestigious ‘Stanford AI Index’, Rishi Sunak said that India has made huge leaps in the field of AI in recent years. He admitted that India has now overtaken Britain in this ranking. Sunak said, “Both India and the UK are leaders in the field of AI. Although India has overtaken us, I jokingly reminded Prime Minister Modi that England is still ahead of India in the ICC test rankings.” Security and technology: Emphasis on shared vision Sunak advocated deeper cooperation with India, not only on the technology but also on the security front. He said that just as both the countries share intelligence against terrorism, similarly ‘intelligence sharing’ will have to be strengthened in the field of emerging technologies and cyber security. Sunak praised the ‘AI Security Institute’ established by India last year and described its coordination with Britain as important for the future. India-UK have similar views on regulation. Sunak made an important point regarding the regulation of AI. He said that both India and Britain are not in favor of the strict rules ‘imposed from above’ of the European Union (EU) or the ‘ad-hoc’ attitude of the US. Instead, both countries are adopting a pragmatic and pro-innovation approach. Sunak believes that this shared vision can become a model for other countries in the world, where emphasis is placed on safe use of technology instead of suppressing it.
