“India are unbeatable at home, Pakistan are a young side”: Shakib Al Hasan on the difference between the two teams

Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has highlighted the difference between India and Pakistan. Bangladesh defeated Pakistan 2-0 in the Test series, but they lost the first Test against India by 280 runs in Chennai.

Shakib said Pakistan are a young team, but that cannot be said about the Rohit Sharma-led team. “Pakistan are a new team, and we have more experience than them. In Test cricket, it plays a big role,” Shakib Al Hasan said before the second Test against India in Kanpur.

India are unbeaten in 17 home Test series, and their last defeat came against England in 2012. On the other hand, Pakistan’s previous home win came against South Africa in 2021.

“India are the number one side in the World Test Championship. They are unbeatable at home. I saw a stat that India hadn’t lost a Test at home for 4000 days. This shows that they are good in India.

“They are winning matches outside India as well. Any country playing in India finds it difficult to win matches, and we are no different. We will have to play well to challenge India.”

India are unbeaten against Bangladesh in the most extended format. They have won 12 out of 14 contests against Bangladesh.

“Other countries lose home matches but it is not the case with India. We defeated them in ODIs in Bangladesh and were close to beating them in a Test match at home. We will have another opportunity in Kanpur. The pitch in Chennai was good, but we were not up to the mark.”
