The invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi had come from Iranian President Masoud Pejeshkian. According to media sources, news is coming that from the Indian side, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Pavitra Margherita and Bihar Governor Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain will attend Khamenei’s funeral in Iran. The event will take place in Tehran on 4 and 5 July.

Died in American attack

Let us tell you, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, died on February 28 in Israeli and American attacks. Khamenei’s funeral was postponed at that time in view of the war. Recently, a temporary ceasefire has been agreed between America and Iran. After this, Khamenei’s funeral ceremony has been scheduled for 4th and 5th July of next month.

This event is going to be very grand in Iran. Representatives from many countries around the world will also participate in it. According to media reports, Bihar Governor Syed Ata Hasnain and Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita will participate in the program from the Indian side.

Why is PM Modi not going?

Prime Minister Modi will not be able to go to Tehran during this period due to pre-planned international programs. Next month, PM Modi will be on a tour of Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. Its schedule is already decided.

The funeral will be taking place after 4 months

Khamenei’s funeral will take place in Tehran about four months after his death, in July. During this time, after his last darshan, a public procession will be taken out in Tehran. Also, prayers will be recited in Karbala and Najaf.
