According to media sources, news is coming that from the Indian side, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Pavitra Margherita and Bihar Governor Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain will attend Khamenei’s funeral in Iran. The event will take place in Tehran on 4 and 5 July.

Let us tell you, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, died on February 28 in Israeli and American attacks. Khamenei’s funeral was postponed at that time in view of the war. Recently, a temporary ceasefire has been agreed between America and Iran. After this, Khamenei’s funeral ceremony has been scheduled for 4th and 5th July of next month.

Why is PM Modi not going?

The funeral will be taking place after 4 months
Khamenei’s funeral will take place in Tehran about four months after his death, in July. During this time, after his last darshan, a public procession will be taken out in Tehran. Also, prayers will be recited in Karbala and Najaf.
