India beat South Africa by 9 Wickets in 3rd ODI: In the third ODI played in Visakhapatnam, India defeated South Africa by 9 wickets to win the three-match series 2–1. Batting first, South Africa had set a target of 271 runs for India, which Team India achieved in just 39.5 overs. Virat Kohli was in excellent form for India during the series, scoring two centuries in three matches and playing an important role in the team’s victory. In this decisive match, India registered an easy victory by showing strength in both batting and bowling.

De Kock’s century went in vain

The match started with India winning the toss and choosing to bowl. For South Africa, Quinton de Kock gave a strong base to the team by playing a brilliant inning of 106 runs. Captain Temba Bavuma also scored 48 runs and along with De Kock made an important partnership of 114 runs for the second wicket. Thanks to this partnership, South Africa was successful in reaching a respectable score. However, the middle order batsmen could not stand against the Indian bowlers and the team was limited to just under 300.

Strong performance by Indian bowlers

As soon as De Kock and Bavuma were out, the Indian bowlers tightened their grip on the match. Prasidh Krishna and Kuldeep Yadav bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets each. Whereas, Dewald Brewis (29), Mathieu Britzke (24), Marco Jansen (17), Corbin Bosch (9) and Keshav Maharaj played an unbeaten inning of 20 runs, but they could not give momentum to the team. Due to India’s consistent bowling, South Africa failed to score a big innings and was restricted to a score of 271.

Strong partnership of Rohit-Jaiswal

Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave a fast and strong start to the Indian team chasing the target. Both added 155 runs for the first wicket. Rohit Sharma played an inning of 75 runs in 73 balls with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes and laid the foundation of India’s victory. After his dismissal, Virat Kohli came to the crease, who maintained the run pace as soon as he came. The partnership of Rohit and Jaiswal made the big target easy for India.

Jaiswal became ‘Player of the Match’

After Rohit Sharma’s dismissal, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli together added 116 runs for the second wicket and completely turned the match towards India. Yashasvi Jaiswal played an unbeaten century of 116 runs in 121 balls, which included 12 fours and 2 sixes. Yashasvi Jaiswal was given the ‘Player of the Match’ award for this powerful century innings. At the same time, Virat Kohli returned unbeaten by scoring 65 runs in 45 balls with the help of 6 fours and 3 sixes. The excellent batting of both the players gave India an easy and memorable victory by 9 wickets and contributed significantly in winning the series 2–1.
