India beats West Indies by five wickets, will face England in the semi-finals of T20 World Cup

Kolkata. India has reached the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup after defeating West Indies by five wickets in a crucial match on Sunday. Now the team will face England at Wankhede on March 5. In the match played in Kolkata, India won the toss and invited West Indies to bat first. The team scored 195 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. In reply, with the help of Sanju Samson’s explosive inning of 97 runs, the Indian team scored 199 runs for five wickets in 19.2 overs and won the match.

The defending champion Indian team has thus entered the last four of this tournament for the third consecutive time and for the sixth time overall. If India can defeat West Indies, then the biggest contribution behind it is from opener Sanju Samson who played a strong innings on Sunday. For India, Samson held the lead from one end and lasted till the end. As soon as Samson hit the winning four, there was a wave of joy in the Indian dressing room.

100% win record continues in Kolkata

In this way, the Indian team has maintained 100 percent win record in T20 against West Indies in Kolkata. This was the fifth T20 match between India and West Indies at Eden Gardens. Interestingly, India has defeated the West Indies in all five matches. At the same time, the Indian team had come to play the T20 World Cup match on this ground after 10 years and the team once again registered victory.
