Tezzbuzz Desk- In the group stage match of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, Team India registered another strong win and defeated Netherlands by 17 runs. In this exciting match played at Narendra Modi Stadium, India, batting first, scored 193 runs in 20 overs, in response to which the Dutch team could score only 176 runs.
After winning the toss and coming to bat first, the Indian team had a balanced start. Captain Suryakumar Yadav played a useful inning of 34 runs, while Tilak Varma also made important contributions. However, the real attraction of the match was Shivam Dube, who played an explosive inning of 66 runs in just 31 balls. In this innings, Dubey hit 4 fours and 6 sixes and increased the run pace in the last overs.
In the middle order, Hardik Pandya played an important inning of 30 runs and helped the team cross 190.
Netherlands had a slow start to chase the target of 194 runs. The run rate in the first 8 overs remained around 6 per over. After this, Colin Ackermann and Bas de Leede breathed life into the match by making a quick partnership of 49 runs. Ackerman scored 23 and De Leede scored 33 runs.
After the score was 125/6 in 15.5 overs, the match almost seemed to be going in India’s bag. But Jack Lyon and Noah Croes made the match exciting by adding 47 runs in just 23 balls. 46 runs were needed in the last two overs. After 18 runs in the 19th over, the equation was reduced to 28 runs in the last over.
Dubey took over the responsibility of bowling in the last over and he took one wicket for only 10 runs, due to which India won the match by 17 runs.
This is India’s fourth consecutive win in the tournament and the team remains unbeaten so far. After a brilliant performance in the group stage, Team India will now face South Africa in the Super-8 stage on 22 February. The confidence of the Indian team has increased even higher after this victory.
