India beats South Africa by 30 runs, captures the series
India maintained its dominance in the five-match T20 series against South Africa and won it 3-1. In the fifth and final match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the Indian team performed brilliantly and ended the series brilliantly by defeating South Africa by 30 runs.
South Africa limited to 201 runs
Earlier, after losing the toss, India batted first and scored 231/5 runs. In reply, South African team scored 201 runs losing 8 wickets. With this victory, India again demonstrated its strength and balance in the T20 format.
India’s innings had a good start. In the power play itself, Abhishek Sharma played useful innings of 34 runs and Sanju Samson played 37 runs. After this, Tilak Verma in the middle order played a brilliant inning of 73 runs in 42 balls and put the team in a strong position. Along with this, Hardik Pandya also showed his aggressive batting and played a stormy innings of 63 runs in just 25 balls, which further strengthened the score.
Quinton de Kock played a struggling inning of 65 runs in 35 balls for the South African team, which was chasing the target of 231 runs, but the cooperation of the rest of the batsmen was limited, due to which the target could not be achieved.
Varun Chakraborty’s brilliant bowling
Varun Chakravarthy was particularly effective in the Indian bowling and used his variations to take four crucial wickets. Apart from this, Jasprit Bumrah also took two important wickets with the help of accurate line and length. Due to this brilliant bowling, the run rate of the South African team remained under control and the opposition batsmen had to face pressure.
