India becomes the world’s fourth largest power in wind energy, PM Modi said in Mann Ki Baat
In the 133rd episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed pride in the country’s scientific progress and expressed concern about global tensions. He appealed to the world to adopt the ideals of peace of Lord Buddha. PM Modi said that India has now become the fourth largest power in the world in the field of wind energy. In this episode, the Prime Minister highlighted achievements like nuclear energy, renewable energy and cultural programs. He also gave the message of peace and harmony on the occasion of Buddha Purnima.
Major achievement of Kalpakkam Fast Breeder Reactor
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, amidst the rush of elections, through your messages and letters, we have been sharing the happiness of the achievements of the citizens. This time let’s start ‘Mann Ki Baat’ with one such big achievement of the country. A few days ago, India’s nuclear scientists have made the country proud with another major achievement. The Fast Breeder Reactor located at Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu has achieved ‘criticality’, which means that the reactor has now entered the operational phase.
India’s new achievement in wind energy
PM Modi said in Mann Ki Baat that today he wants to talk about a power which is not visible, but without it life is not possible even for a moment – this power is wind energy. He said that this power is taking India forward and today wind energy is writing a new story of the country’s development. The Prime Minister said that India has recently made great achievements in this field and the country’s wind energy capacity has exceeded 56 GW, making India among the leading four countries in the world.
Message of peace on Buddha Purnima
PM Modi said that the month of May is starting with an auspicious occasion and in a few days we will celebrate Buddha Purnima. While giving advance greetings to the countrymen, he said that the life message of Gautam Buddha is equally relevant even today. The Prime Minister said that Lord Buddha taught us that peace begins from within us and victory over oneself is the greatest victory. He also said that in the kind of tension and conflict the world is going through today, Buddha’s thoughts become even more relevant.
Republic Celebration and Beating Retreat Ceremony
PM Modi said that in our country ‘Republic Utsav’ is celebrated from 23 January, i.e. the birth anniversary of Subhash Chandra Bose, to 30 January, the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. He told that an important part of this festival is the Beating Retreat Ceremony, and there is a special reason behind it. The Prime Minister said that the festival reflects the diverse musical traditions of the country through various bands, and the inclusion of Indian music has increased over the years, which has been greatly appreciated by the countrymen. He said that this year’s Beating Retreat ceremony was very memorable, in which the bands of Air Force, Army, Navy and CAPF gave spectacular performances.
