INDIA Block will contest by-elections in UP on the cycle symbol, Akhilesh said – We have decided to build the country of dreams of 'Bapu-Babasaheb-Lohia'

Lucknow. The Indian alliance of Samajwadi Party (Akhilesh Yadav) and Congress has come out with a different formula for the by-elections being held on 9 assembly seats of UP. SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav himself has announced. Under this formula, the common candidates of India Alliance will contest elections on all 9 seats. The special thing is that all the candidates will contest on the election symbol of SP i.e. bicycle symbol. Akhilesh Yadav has given this information by posting on his official X handle.

SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav said that 'it is not about winning the seat', under this strategy, the joint candidates of 'India Alliance' will contest elections on all the 9 seats on the symbol of Samajwadi Party, 'Cycle'.

He said that Congress and Samajwadi Party are standing together, shoulder to shoulder, united for a big victory. India Alliance is going to write a new chapter of victory in this by-election. With the coming together of Congress Party's top leadership to booth level workers, the strength of Samajwadi Party has increased manifold. With this unprecedented cooperation and support, every worker of 'India Alliance' is filled with new energy with the resolve to win on all the 9 assembly seats.

He said that this is an election to save the country's constitution, harmony and honor of PDA. That is why our appeal is: not even a single vote should be reduced, not even a single vote should be divided. Shri Yadav said that this harmony-filled unity and solidarity of 'India Alliance' in the interest of the country will write new history today and tomorrow also.

National President of Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav wrote on X Post on Thursday that we have decided to save 'Constitution, Reservation, Harmony' and to build the country of dreams of 'Bapu-Babasaheb-Lohia'.

India Alliance Congress leader Surendra Rajput confirmed that the main objective of the alliance will be to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rather than choosing the election symbol. India Alliance is contesting on all 9 seats. For us, the symbol is not important. For us, an end to BJP's misgovernance is important. For us, the elimination of Bahraich riot criminals is important. For us, it is important that security, peace and the Constitution are protected. He said that India Alliance is united against those who oppose caste census and reservation and will contest elections on all 9 seats. The way Akhilesh Yadav showed big heart in Haryana, we will contest elections with the same spirit and win all 9 seats.

On Tuesday, 15 candidates filed nominations for the by-elections in UP and till Wednesday, a total of 34 candidates filed nominations for the Uttar Pradesh by-elections. Nominations will continue to be accepted till October 25 for the by-elections of 9 assembly seats in UP. The Election Commission has announced by-elections for nine of the 10 vacant assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, except Milkipur in Ayodhya district. Voting will take place on November 13 and counting of votes will take place on November 23.
