India defeated South Africa, won the T20 series

In the fifth and final T20 match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India defeated South Africa by 30 runs. With this victory, India won the series 3-1.

Start of first partnership

India lost the toss and decided to bat first. Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson gave a explosive start. Together they added 63 runs in 5.4 overs, due to which the team moved towards making a good score. Abhishek Sharma walked to the pavilion after scoring 34 runs on 21 balls. Sanju Samson along with Tilak Verma took the score to 100.

Hardik Pandya’s storm

At 115/3, India needed to score runs quickly and Hardik Pandya played a brilliant innings. He set a new record by scoring 50 runs in 16 balls, which was the second fastest T20I fifty by an Indian batsman. This innings played an important role in taking India’s score near 200.

Strong partnership with Tilak Verma

Tilak Verma himself played big shots while supporting Hardik Pandya. Together, they added 105 runs in 44 balls to take India to a huge score. The partnership of Hardik and Tilak completely failed the plans of the South African bowlers.

South Africa’s efforts were ineffective

South Africa got off to a good start, but India’s bowlers kept the situation under control by taking timely wickets. Hardik Pandya also made an important contribution in bowling and took the wicket of Dewald Brevis. Indian bowlers restricted South Africa to 200 runs for 8 wickets.
