  • Trump’s ‘Greenland’ Tariff Turns the Winds
  • Europe-Trump face to face after ‘Greenland Tariff’
  • New doors of export will open for India

India EU trade deal: A trade deal is now becoming like a game of chess, where even if one of your moves damages your opponent, a third party can certainly gain. This is because it is like a war and in war the enemy of the enemy is the friend. The European Union and Donald Trump are standing face to face due to the US President’s ‘Greenland Tariff’. This situation seems to be favorable for India. Even if the trade deal with the US is delayed, if an agreement is reached with the Group of 27 developed countries (EU), India’s problems will be solved to a large extent. The talks between the two parties have now reached the final stage, and Europe is likely to strike a huge trade deal with India. This means teaching America a lesson and increasing rapprochement with India, the repercussions of which can be seen in America as well.

With the prospect of a tariff war brewing between the US and the EU, Indian exports to the 27-nation EU could get a big boost. Sanjay Jain, MD of readymade garment exporter TT Limited, said that the European Union wants to complete the process of this agreement as soon as possible. This will not only get you a better deal, but also speed up the rectification process. India and the European Union are likely to announce the end of talks on a free trade agreement during a summit to be held in the capital Delhi on January 27.

The announcement will be made during the official visit of European Council President Antony Corta and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to India from January 25 to 27, who will also be the chief guests at the Republic Day celebrations in Delhi on January 26. India is likely to benefit greatly from this.

An official said this is a big opportunity for India as it is a stable trading partner in a volatile global environment. As India’s exports have soared during the period of trade uncertainty between Washington and China, it may continue to do so, meaning that the trade war between the US, China and Europe could turn out to be beneficial for India. Both parties are in the final stages of ongoing long-running negotiations for a proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
