India-Finland Ties: PM Modi and President Stubb created history; Inauguration of strategic partnership between India-Finland

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finnish President Alexander Stubb held bilateral talks at Hyderabad House in New Delhi. After this meeting, both the countries have taken a big decision to take their relations to the level of ‘Strategic Partnership’. This partnership will mainly focus on digitalization and sustainability, which will further strengthen the role of both the countries in the high-tech world of the future. ‘Roadmap’ from AI to 6G and quantum computing. PM Modi said in the joint press conference that India and Finland are no longer just trading partners, but co-creators of future technologies. Hi-Tech Sector: Important agreements (MoUs) have been signed between the two countries for cooperation in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), 6G Telecom, Quantum Computing and Semiconductors. Clean Energy: The benefit of Finland’s experience in clean energy and green technology will prove helpful in achieving India’s ‘Net Zero’ target. Benefit: This will make it easier for Indian students and researchers to go to Finland. PM Modi said that Finland is a ‘role model’ in the field of education and now both the countries will cooperate at every level from school to industry. Innovation Ecosystem: This agreement will connect the startups and innovation centers of both the countries. Finland supported India’s claim in UNSC. President Alexander Stubb strongly supported India’s permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). He said: “The world is changing and the role of the Global South has become important. Reforms on the global stage are incomplete without India. India’s presence in the UNSC is the need of the hour.”Chief Guest of Raisina Dialogue 2026Let us tell you that President Stubb is on a state visit to India from 4 to 7 March and he is attending this year’s ‘Raisina Dialogue 2026’ as the Chief Guest. After Delhi, he will also visit Mumbai, where he will meet Indian business leaders.
