Bullet Train: Indian Railways is now becoming more modern and safe. The indigenously developed ‘Kavach’ safety technology to make fast trains like Vande Bharat and tracks capable of reaching a speed of 160 km/hr is a part of this change. Now India is working on its first indigenous bullet train ‘B28’, which is being manufactured at the BEML factory in Bengaluru. For this, ICF of Chennai has entrusted the responsibility of preparing two high-speed trains to BEML. After this project, the government is preparing to make more advanced bullet train ‘B35’.
Speed and features of B28 and B35 bullet trains
India’s first indigenous bullet train B28 is being built for a top speed of 280 km/hr, which will run at a speed of 250 km/hr on the tracks. Railways aims to prepare the first such train by March 2027. After this, work will be done on more advanced B35 bullet train, whose maximum speed will be 350 km/hour. The special thing is that Railways is localizing Japanese technology according to Indian needs and developing it in the country itself.
What will be the route of B28 bullet train?
India’s first B28 bullet train will start between Surat and Vapi, which will cover a distance of about 97 kilometers. This is a part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project, which is targeted to be started by August 2027. All the coaches of this 8-coach train being prepared by Bengaluru’s BEML company will be completely AC. For the convenience of passengers, it will also be provided with very comfortable seats and a modern infotainment system for entertainment.

B35 Bullet Train Launch and Route
After B28, India will launch an even faster B35 bullet train, which will run on the tracks at a speed of 320 km/hour. Along with Mumbai-Ahmedabad, the government is also preparing to build 7 new high-speed corridors in the country. There are plans to connect big cities like Delhi-Varanasi, Mumbai-Pune and Bengaluru-Chennai in these new routes so that long distances can be covered in a very short time.
