India formally sends letter of intent to host Olympics in 2036 News in Hindi: India has taken an important step towards possible hosting of the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games. On October 1, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) officially submitted a letter of intent to the prospective host commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), sources said.

The action follows repeatedly expressed interest from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who sees the Games as a potential boon for the nation.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of India hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2036 has taken a significant step forward,” a source said. He said, “This wonderful opportunity can create considerable momentum while promoting economic growth, social progress and youth empowerment across the world.”

India's top sports administrators, including IOA president PT Usha, had gone to the Paris Olympics earlier in the year to lobby for the country's selection. There are reports that if the bid is successful, India will push for inclusion of indigenous sports like yoga, kho-kho and kabaddi.

The Mission Olympic Cell (MOC) of the Sports Authority of India has given new Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya the necessary information for a successful bid.
A report on the measures has also been presented.

Six disciplines have been identified in this document to win medals for India. The fields that have been identified are Yoga, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Chess, T-20 Cricket and Squash.

PM Modi has already stressed the importance of sports for India. While interacting with the athletes on Independence Day, he had sought their inputs in the preparations to host this quadrennial grand event. PM Modi had said, “India is preparing to host the 2036 Olympics. In this regard, input from athletes who have played in the previous Olympics is very important. You all must have seen and experienced many things. We are trying to document it. We want to do this and share it with the government so that we do not miss any small detail as we prepare for 2036.”

During the 141st IOC session held in Mumbai last year, he had said, “We will leave no stone unturned in our efforts to organize the Olympics on Indian soil in 2036. This is the age-old dream and aspiration of 140 crore Indians. This dream can be achieved with your support.” And to be realized with support.”

IOC President Thomas Bach also supported India's case, claiming that there is a “strong case” for India to host the Olympic Games.

In the process, India has joined nine other countries that have expressed interest in hosting the 2036 Games. The 10 countries that have shown initial interest in hosting the 2036 Games are Mexico (Mexico City, Guadalajara-Monterrey-Tijuana), Indonesia (Nusantara), Turkey (Istanbul), India (Ahmedabad), Poland (Warsaw, Kraków), Egypt (New Governorate, Capital) and South Korea (Seoul-Incheon).

The IOC's Future Host Commission will oversee the selection process, which includes a detailed assessment of each potential host country. A final decision on the host city is expected in several years.
