India hints at moving towards AI-driven war after India AI Impact Summit 2026

New Delhi.New Delhi: The dust has not yet settled after the India AI Impact Summit 2026, but a report says that the message received from this meeting is resonating far beyond the borders of India.

While the summit officially focused on building ethical, human-centric artificial intelligence, it also reflected a deeper strategic shift: India is preparing its armed forces for an era of AI-driven warfare, the India Narrative reports.

For decades, military power was measured by the size of armies, the weight of tanks, and the range of missiles.

That equation is changing now. In modern battles, speed of information and decision-making is becoming as important as firepower.

Defense strategists are now talking about the OODA loop — short for Observe, Orient, Decide and Act — which determines how quickly a military can anticipate and respond to a situation.

At the summit, the Strategic Forces Command quietly introduced a new locally developed AI tool that could drastically change the way India keeps an eye on its borders.

The system can analyze satellite imagery, drone footage and electronic data to detect potential military build-ups along the Line of Actual Control with about 94 percent accuracy — even before visible signs such as tents or equipment are visible, the report said.

Officials say that this tool helps the military to quickly identify and respond to unusual activity.

Instead of relying solely on human analysts, AI systems process massive amounts of data and provide real-time insights, helping commanders make decisions before tensions on the ground escalate.

According to the report, it was also told in the summit how Artificial Intelligence is gradually being integrated in all three branches of the Armed Forces.

In the Army, a platform called SAM-UN platform is being used to upgrade old tanks and armored vehicles.

According to the report, AI-driven fire-control systems are being added to older equipment, allowing these platforms to remain effective on the modern battlefield without the need for an entirely new fleet.
