‘India is no longer just a consumer, a country that provides solutions to the world’: PM Modi’s big message from France
New Delhi: Underlining India’s growing global role, PM Modi, at the inauguration of ‘Bharat Innovates’ program organized in Nice city of France, said that the country is no longer just a consumer of technologies and solutions developed in the world, but is also making an important contribution in creating solutions to global challenges. He said that today India is moving forward rapidly in the field of innovation, technology and entrepreneurship and is creating a new identity in front of the world.
What did PM Modi say in his address?
In his address, the Prime Minister described the relations between India and France as not limited to just diplomatic or business partnerships. He said that the relationship between the two countries is based on shared values, mutual trust, long-term vision and spirit of innovation. According to him, many countries in the world have strategic and economic partnerships, but there are only a few relationships which are based on common thinking and common goals for the future. India-France relations fall in the same category.
Modi said that both the countries have worked together in important areas like security, climate change, energy and technological development. He also mentioned growing cooperation in emerging technologies such as the International Solar Alliance and artificial intelligence. According to him, this partnership is proving important not only for both the countries but also for global interests.
Addressing the entrepreneurs, investors and researchers present at the program, the Prime Minister said that the culture of innovation in India is rapidly strengthening. The youth of the country are developing new technologies and solutions through startups, which are not only meeting the needs of the Indian society but also offering solutions to global problems. He said that India is innovating for sustainable development and a better future and is now creating solutions for the world as well.
The Prime Minister described the ‘Bharat Innovates’ initiative as an important bridge between Indian talent and global investment. He said that through this platform, the ideas and startups of Indian youth will get an opportunity to connect with international investors, research institutes and industry. This will give Indian innovators new opportunities for collaboration and recognition at the global level.
Emmanuel Macron praised India
On this occasion, French President Emmanuel Macron also praised India’s scientific and technological achievements. Referring to Chandrayaan-3’s landing on the Moon, he praised India’s technological capability and congratulated Prime Minister Modi for remaining on the post of Prime Minister for a long time. Describing India as an emerging global innovation power, Macron stressed on further strengthening cooperation in the field of technology and entrepreneurship between the two countries.
The ‘Bharat Innovates’ program is considered to be an important initiative towards bringing together startups, venture capital firms, policy makers and researchers from India, France and other countries on one platform, which is expected to foster new partnerships and innovations globally in the future.
