Nuclear Missile News In Hindi: India has quietly launched its fourth nuclear missile submarine, increasing the strength of the Indian Navy's fleet. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has launched this submarine at the Ship Building Center (SBC) in Visakhapatnam. The code name of this submarine is S-4.

The newly launched S-4 submarine has about 75 per cent indigenous content and is armed with K-4 ballistic missiles with a range of 3,500 km. It can be fired using a vertical launching system. INS Arihant, the first of its class, can carry the K-15 nuclear missile with a range of 750 km.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the submarine project on 29 August 2024. This development comes at a time when the construction of the third nuclear powered submarine, INS Aridman, is already underway. This reflects India's continuous efforts to strengthen its arsenal to deal with unexpected challenges.

Let us tell you that two nuclear submarines INS Arihant and INS Arighat have already been inducted into the Indian Navy. INS Arighat was commissioned in August this year. INS Aridman will be inducted into the fleet next year. On October 9, the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) approved the development of two nuclear-powered attack submarines in view of the emerging defense scenario in the Indo-Pacific region.
