‘India of 12 years ago and India of today…’ Fadnavis enumerated the works of PM Modi which changed the picture of the country.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and his visionary thinking. During an event organized in Mumbai, he said that the last 12 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi have indeed been historic and full of big changes in the history of the country. He proudly said that today India has completely left behind its old image of a ‘country dependent on others’ in front of the world. Now India has emerged as a ‘self-reliant nation’ with increased prestige and strong self-esteem at the global level.
Chief Minister Fadnavis stressed that during these 12 years, such major fundamental, economic and social reforms have taken place in the country, which have broken the sluggishness of the government policies and system that had been going on for decades. He mentioned the major decisions like formalization of the country’s economy, record expansion of digital infrastructure and unprecedented strengthening of national security. Fadnavis said that the Modi government has created a very strong and self-reliant foundation to achieve the big goal of ‘Developed India’ by the year 2047.
Special book released on completion of 12 years of PM Modi
Chief Minister Fadnavis was speaking at a special program organized on Monday on the eve of completion of 12 years of successful tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On this occasion, he also released a special memorial book named ‘Rashtra Nirmanchi Tapapoorti’ (12 years of penance for nation building).
Talking about the revolutionary changes that have taken place in the economic and social fabric of the country since assuming power in 2014, Chief Minister Fadnavis said that it is the result of the policies made by the Prime Minister keeping the welfare of the poor and the common citizen at the center that today more than 25 crore people of the country have come out of the trap of extreme poverty. He termed this success as a unique and unmatched achievement on the global stage.
According to statistics, economic leap of India and Maharashtra
The Chief Minister also explained the economic progress of the country and the state through figures. He made it clear that after the command of the country came into the strong hands of Prime Minister Modi, India’s GDP has increased manifold from Rs 103 lakh crore in the year 2013-14 to a huge figure of about Rs 357 lakh crore. Not only the country, but Maharashtra has also got a big benefit from it. During the same period, the GDP of Maharashtra alone has also jumped from Rs 13 lakh crore to Rs 54 lakh crore.
In his address, the Chief Minister praised major economic reforms like Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Unified Payments Interface (UPI). He said that the GST implemented in the country has turned the entire India into a market, due to which foreign investment (FDI) in the country has increased to a record level. Maharashtra has got the biggest benefit from this investment, which alone is attracting 40 percent of the total foreign investment of the entire country.
Control on corruption and self-reliance in defense sector
Praising the digital system of the country, Devendra Fadnavis said that due to Jan Dhan-Aadhaar-Mobile (JAM Trinity) and UPI, corruption at the grassroots level has been completely eliminated today. Through these modern systems, the money from government schemes is reaching the bank accounts of the beneficiaries directly and safely without any middleman.
Speaking on the foreign policy and security front of the country, Chief Minister Fadnavis underlined another big thing. He said that India was once included in the list of the world’s largest arms buyer (importer) countries, but today, thanks to the policies of PM Modi, India is moving rapidly towards becoming a strong arms seller (exporter) country. Today India’s defense exports have touched the historic figure of Rs 50,000 crore. He described the ongoing infrastructure development along the border and recent successful military operations as the biggest proof of India’s strong strategic preparedness.
