Did Track 2 talks take place between India and Pakistan in Colombo? Modi government broke its silence, know what the Foreign Secretary said
India Pakistan Track 2 Dialogue: The Central Government has made its position clear regarding the alleged Track-2 talks between India and Pakistan in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri Said that many such private events take place across the world, but the Government of India has no official connection with such events.
Vikram Misri said that these programs are organized by private organizations. Retired officers, former diplomats, military officers or people from civil society participating in these express their personal views and do not represent the views of the Government of India. He made it clear that the government does not view such events as official talks and they have no special significance. This statement comes after reports which claimed that India-Pakistan Track-2 dialogue took place in Colombo.

- Reports claimed that informal discussions took place between representatives of India and Pakistan during the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) South Asia Dialogue in Colombo.
- Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that there is no official involvement, support or involvement from the Indian government.

- Reports suggest the involvement of BJP leader and India Foundation President Ram Madhav, former Army Chief General MM Naravane and former Indian High Commissioner to the UK Ruchi Ghanshyam.
- Ram Madhav said that he had only participated as a speaker in a session of the IISS conference. He did not participate in any separate India-Pak Track-2 talks.
- The reports claimed the involvement of former diplomats and officials of Pakistan. These include the names of Sajjad Haider Khan, Sherry Rehman and retired Major General Isfandiyar Ali Khan Pataudi.
- Vikram Misri said that he cannot speak on behalf of the Pakistan government, but the Indian government’s position is clear. People from India who participate in these programs, whether they are retired diplomats, retired military officers or members of civil society, express their views and present their views.
