T20 World Cup 2026: India takes step towards reaching semi-finals

New Delhi: India has made a strong comeback towards making it to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2026. The pressure on the team had increased after the defeat by 76 runs at the hands of Zimbabwe in the first match of Super 8, but yesterday India performed brilliantly and defeated Zimbabwe by 72 runs. Now it seems easy for the team captained by Surya to reach the semi-finals.

Important contribution to India’s victory

In this match, the Indian team scored 256 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs with the help of half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma (55) and Hardik Pandya (50*). Now India will have to win the next match against West Indies to reach the semi-finals. It is now completely in the hands of the team.

IND vs WI: Do or die match date

Two important matches were played in the T20 World Cup yesterday, in one of which India won, while in the other West Indies had to face defeat. Now both the teams are in the race for the semi-finals with 2-2 points. The final match of Super 8 between these two will be held on March 1 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, which will be a decisive match. If the match is affected by rain?

If West Indies is successful in defeating India, they will advance to the next stage. Additionally, if the match is abandoned due to rain or there is no result, West Indies will advance to the next round due to better net run rate.
