India scored 176/6 runs in Adelaide T20I due to brilliant innings of Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues.

India women’s cricket team set a target of 176/6 in the third and final match of the ongoing India vs Australia Women’s T20I series at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday.

India won the toss and decided to bat first. Mandhana and Shafali opened India’s innings, where Australian fast bowler Darcy Brown found it difficult to find his rhythm in the initial overs. He bowled four wide balls and Mandhana also hit a boundary with a cover drive.

India scored 14/0 in the first two overs, but Shafali returned to the pavilion in 2.4 overs at 19/1. After this, Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues took full advantage of the powerplay and made the score 54/1 in the first six overs. Sophie Molineux gave 14 runs in the last over of the powerplay.

India’s score after 10 overs was 86/1, and Mandhana completed her half-century by hitting a six off Darcy Brown in the 12th over. In the 15th over, Jemima was dropped an easy catch by Phoebe Lichfield. At this time India’s score was 127/1.

Mandhana ended her innings by hitting a six on the first ball of Annabel Sutherland in the 16th over. He scored 82 runs in 55 balls, which included eight fours and three sixes. Mandhana played brilliantly throughout the match, although the start was slow, but she scored runs at a strike rate of 149.09.

Richa Ghosh then maintained the pace, while Jemimah completed her fifty in 41 balls. Ghosh scored 18 runs in seven balls, but was out in the 19th over off the bowling of Molineux.

In the final over, India lost three wickets in the bowling of Sutherland. Jemima returned to the pavilion on 59 runs, Amanjot Kaur on 1 run and Deepti Sharma on 1 run. Thus India ended its innings with a score of 176/6.
