India should get veto power, said Joe Biden after meeting PM Modi

Meeting of PM Modi and President Biden: PM Narendra Modi arrived in the US on Saturday for a three-day visit. During this, PM Modi held an important meeting with US President Joe Biden. In which bilateral cooperation and global and regional issues including the Indo-Pacific region were discussed. At the same time, President Biden, while praising PM Modi, advocated giving India permanent membership i.e. veto power in the United Nations Security Council.

Actually, PM Modi has reached America to participate in the Quad Summit. Which has been organized in President Biden's hometown Delaware. During this, Biden warmly welcomed PM Modi at his residence on Saturday. Where both the leaders hugged each other and Biden took PM Modi home by holding his hand. At the same time, the two leaders held bilateral talks for more than an hour at Biden's residence.

After the bilateral talks, Joe Biden wrote in his X post, “America's partnership with India is stronger, closer and more dynamic than at any time in history. Whenever we meet, I am impressed by our ability to find new areas of cooperation. Today was no different.” At the same time, during the meeting with PM Modi, Biden emphasized on reform in global institutions. During this, Biden said that India should get permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council i.e. veto power. America openly supports this.

“The discussion focused on strengthening India-US partnership in areas of mutual interests. The two leaders exchanged views on issues in the Indo-Pacific region as well as global issues,” the Prime Minister's Office of India wrote in an Xpost.
