India strongly condemned the attack on Kabul Rehab Center, said- Pakistan is committing genocide under the guise of military operation.

New Delhi, March 17. India strongly condemned Pakistan over the airstrike on a hospital and rehab center in Kabul, saying that a large number of civilians have died in this attack and an attempt is being made to call it a military action, which is unacceptable.

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it was a ‘cowardly and inhuman act’. Describing any hospital or civilian base as a military target cannot be justified in any way. India termed the attack as an ‘open attack’ on Afghanistan’s sovereignty and said it is a serious threat to the peace and stability of the region. This shows Pakistan’s irresponsible attitude and tendency to spread violence outside the borders.

Questions raised on attack during Ramzan

India also expressed concern that the attack was carried out during the holy month of Ramadan. The ministry said that this is a time of peace, restraint and compassion, hence such action is even more condemnable.

Appeal for action from the international community

India has appealed to the international community to hold the perpetrators of this ‘criminal act’ accountable and to immediately stop incidents of targeting Afghan civilians.

Along with this, India expressed deep condolences to those killed in the attack and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. Also reiterated its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Afghanistan.

Taliban claims – hundreds of people died

It is noteworthy that Taliban officials have claimed the death of more than 400 people and injuries to at least 250 people in this attack on Omid Addiction Treatment Hospital in Kabul. This incident is considered to be one of the most horrific incidents in the capital in recent years.

Afghanistan expressed concern over international silence

Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry also questioned the silence of the international community on this attack. He said that this shows an disregard for global responsibility and concrete steps should be taken to stop attacks on civilians.
