Practice time changed in Wankhede, know whom the Indian cricket team was waiting for in the dressing room
Indian Cricket Team Practice: After winning in Kolkata and entering the semi-finals, the Indian cricket team has reached Mumbai for its next match, where they will face England on Thursday. After the defeat at the hands of South Africa, the team management is working on all the departments. Now in this series, the practice session on Tuesday came into limelight for a different reason. According to reports, the Indian team postponed its practice due to the lunar eclipse, so as to avoid any ‘inauspicious’ start.
Decision taken due to lunar eclipse!
According to the reports, the team’s practice session was scheduled from 6 pm to 9 pm at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The lunar eclipse started at 3:20 pm on the same day, and continued till 6:47 pm. When the team management got the information that the practice would start during the eclipse, it was discussed. Many people believed that no new or auspicious work should be started during the eclipse, especially when the team is going to play a big match like the semi-final against England.
According to some reports, the team wanted to start the preparations with positive energy. There was a feeling among the players that any kind of negative belief or apprehension should be avoided before an important match. Keeping this in mind, the team management decided to postpone the practice session by about an hour. It was believed that it would be better to start practice after around 6:40 pm.
Mental state and confidence are important
Although from the scientific point of view such beliefs regarding eclipse are considered superstition, but the role of mental state and self-confidence is very important in sports. Before a big match, players prepare themselves not only physically but also mentally. In such a situation, if any decision strengthens the morale of the team, then it is seen as a positive step.
Now all eyes are on the India-England semi-final to be held on Thursday. The practice time may have been changed by an hour, but the team’s goal is clear—to perform strongly and make it to the finals.
