Had no idea there would be no handshake

Salman Ali Aga told that till the toss he had no idea that there would be no handshake. He said that the meeting took place as normal during the press conference and photoshoot with the trophy and there was also a handshake. So they thought everything would be normal. But when he was going for the toss, the match referee took him aside and told him that there would be no handshake this time. Aga said that he had no prior knowledge of this, although he did not make much of an issue of it and said that even he did not care much if hands were not being shaken.

It was expected that there would be a handshake after the match

India defeated Pakistan easily in the match. But Salman says that he expected that after the match is over, the players of both the teams will definitely shake hands with each other, because it is a part of the spirit of the game. He told that after the match, he went to the Indian dressing room with the entire Pakistani team to meet the players, but found the door closed and still did not shake hands.

On this entire incident, Salman Ali Aga said that he does not find it right at all. He believes that when players represent their country, millions of people watch them and children learn from them. If players behave like this on a large scale, its impact will trickle down. He said that if the players refuse to shake hands in a similar manner in a club match the next day, then the responsibility for the same will fall on those international players as well. Therefore, it is extremely important to maintain sportsmanship and respect while being an ideal player.
