The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released the latest and detailed weather bulletin of the country for July 13, 2026. According to the Meteorological Department, the Monsoon Trough is currently active towards east-south-east till South Assam through Sri Ganganagar, Hisar, Meerut, Shahjahanpur, Gorakhpur and Muzaffarpur. Along with this, separate strong cyclonic circulations remain in the atmosphere of north-eastern Bihar, south Bangladesh and north-eastern Assam. Due to these powerful weather systems, warnings of heavy to very heavy rainfall have been issued in 11 states of the country including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. Due to monsoon winds and active weather system in the mountains, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of heavy rain in 8 other states of the country. Moderate to heavy rainfall with strong winds may occur in these areas: Eastern Uttar Pradesh Uttarakhand Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim Odisha Arunachal Pradesh Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura (all north-eastern states) Thunderstorm, lightning and wind speed up to 50 km/hour Along with rain, the Meteorological Department has warned of lightning and high speed in many states. Severe forecast of gusty winds has been issued from: Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh: There is a possibility of stormy winds at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and lightning at some places in these areas. Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana: Gusty winds will blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km/hour in different parts of these states and there may be lightning along with thunder. Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim and North-Eastern States: Special warning has been given about lightning along with strong thunder at different places. At the same time, in some plain areas of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, dusty winds can blow at very high speed on the surface. On the one hand, rain, on the other hand, heatwave havoc in Coastal Andhra Pradesh. In view of the possible storm and extremely strong winds in the sea, the Meteorological Department has given strict instructions to the fishermen not to venture into the coastal areas and deep sea: Arabian Sea: 45-55 along most parts of west-central, east-central, northern and southwest Arabian Sea, along the coasts of Somalia and Oman as well as along the coasts of North Gujarat. Winds blowing at a speed of km/h can reach a peak speed of 65 km/h. Bay of Bengal: In the sea adjacent to the coasts of Northern Andhra Pradesh and Andaman Sea, storm winds can blow at a speed of 40-50 km/hour, the speed of which is expected to increase to 60 km/hour.
