Weather update across the country: Rain in Delhi, heat wave in UP-Rajasthan, IMD alert
The weather patterns are changing very rapidly across the country. On one hand, there is intense heat and on the other hand, rains, storms and storms have started in many states. The capital Delhi remained cloudy since morning on Friday and by evening it started raining heavily with strong winds. After the rain the weather became quite cool and comfortable. People got some respite from the heat. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy rain, strong storm and lightning in many states in the coming days. These days winds can blow at a speed of 30 to 70 kilometers per hour. There is also a possibility of lightning along with thunder.
There is a possibility of light to heavy rain in the northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura for the next 5 days. IMD has issued an alert of heavy rain especially in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya from 18 to 21 April. There will be rain in these areas along with strong winds, due to which rivers may swell and there is a possibility of water logging in low altitude areas.
How will the weather be in Delhi today?
Delhi remained cloudy throughout the day on Friday and it rained heavily in the evening, due to which the weather became pleasant. But today on Saturday the weather is going to be hot and dry again. There may be partial clouds during the day. The temperature in Delhi is likely to remain above 40 degrees Celsius for the next 6-7 days. Therefore, people should stay away from sunlight and drink as much water as possible.
severe heat in Uttar Pradesh
These days the scorching heat continues to wreak havoc in Uttar Pradesh. In districts like Varanasi, Prayagraj, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra of Eastern UP, the weather remains completely dry and hot. At many places the temperature has reached above 40 degrees Celsius. Banda was the hottest on Friday, where the temperature reached 44 degrees. Today, strong winds up to 50 kilometers per hour can occur in some areas of the state. Both intense heat and humidity will be felt during the day.
Bihar weather
The weather is going to be unstable in Bihar today. There may be light rain with thunder at many places. Winds will blow at a speed of 30 to 50 kilometers per hour. There will be light clouds in Patna. The weather can change frequently in many areas including Madhepura. There will be danger of lightning and storm, hence farmers and common people have been advised to remain alert.
Uttarakhand weather
The weather is changing rapidly in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand. There is a possibility of light rain and strong winds (up to 50 kilometers per hour) in many districts on 18 and 19 April. There are chances of partly cloudy sky and light rain in Dehradun and surrounding areas. A little coolness may be felt due to rain, but the temperature will be slightly higher than normal.
Himachal Pradesh weather
The weather will be active in Himachal Pradesh on 18th and 19th April. There is a possibility of light rain with thunder and lightning in many districts and hail at some places. The weather around Shimla, Kullu and Manali can change frequently. It will be cold in the higher altitude areas, while the temperature will be normal in the lower areas. Hail can cause damage to crops, so farmers should be careful.
Heat wave and dust storm in Rajasthan
The scorching heat continues in western Rajasthan. Heat wave is going on in many areas including Jaisalmer and Bikaner. The temperature is much higher than normal. Today, there is a possibility of dust storm with strong winds in some parts, but the effect of heat will remain.
Chances of rain in these states today
Light rain may occur in Haryana, Punjab, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha today. There will also be thunder and lightning at some places. There will be heat wave these days in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha (Maharashtra), Telangana and some parts of Maharashtra. The temperature here can reach 40 to 44 degrees Celsius. There will be very high humidity along with heat in the coastal areas of Odisha, West Bengal and South India. There will not be much respite from the heat even at night.
