New Delhi: According to a big news, India will operate its first manned 'underwater submersible' at a depth of 500 meters in the sea under its 'Deep Ocean Mission'. In this regard, Earth Science Minister Jitendra Singh gave information on Thursday.
Jitendra Singh made this comment in the Mission Steering Committee meeting. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary, Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Berry, Principal Scientific Advisor Ajay Kumar Sood and Earth Science Secretary M. Ravichandran were present in this special meeting.

Give information that, 'Underwater submersible' is a man -ridden vehicle running in a deep sea. It requires transportation and support by a large vessel or platform. At the same time, the submarine has more capacity and is capable of free operation by staying in the sea for a long time.
In this regard, Singh said that this year it will work up to a depth of 500 meters and aims to reach a depth of 6,000 meters by next year. He said that this achievement would keep pace with the deadline of other historical missions in India, including the Gaganyaan Space Mission which reflects a “pleasant coincidence” in the country's journey towards scientific excellence.
