India will make five people skilled in AI by 2026 Gujarati

Government company IndiaAI has partnered with Microsoft to train five lakh Indians in Artificial Intelligence (AI) by 2026. Under this, students, teachers, software developers, government officials and women entrepreneurs will be trained in AI. Microsoft India and South Asia President Punit Chand said that the $3 billion investment announced by the company’s Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella will be used to build technology, infrastructure, AI capabilities and human capital in India.

He said, last year we had announced to provide training to 20 lakh people. We have already trained 24 lakh people. It has been announced to provide training to one crore people in the next five years. We have signed an agreement with IndiaAI Mission, under which five lakh people will be trained in AI. The government will allocate Rs. 10,000 for the development of AI ecosystem in the country in five years in March 2024. 10,372 crores were also approved.

Under this partnership, AI Productivity Labs will be created at 20 National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) and NIELIT centers to train 20,000 teachers in 10 states. Additionally, one lakh students in 200 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) will be empowered with basic AI courses.

Chando had said that Microsoft will also work to promote the government’s IndiaAI mission. In partnership with IndiaAI, a Center of Excellence ‘AI Catalysts’ will be set up to spur rural AI innovation and enable one lakh innovators and developers in tier-2 and tier-3 cities of the country.
