Indian team will perform better in Border-Gavaskar Trophy, former captain said – there will be no clean sweep in Australia

Sports Desk : The five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy to be played between India and Australia will start from November 22. The Indian team is going to Australia to practice for this series. In such a situation, former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has accepted many challenges regarding this series. After the 3-0 defeat against New Zealand, the Indian team has gone on a tour of Australia. Ganguly said that such matches create a lot of excitement among cricket fans.

Speaking to RevSportz, Ganguly said, “According to me, India-Australia, India-England are the two best series in world cricket at the moment. The Ashes series also has its own importance. But I think both these series will be watched with curiosity. There is a lot of enthusiasm about this series in Australia and it is also visible on social media and newspapers. A lot of good things are going to happen in this series. It is going to be a fascinating series and I am looking forward to it.”

Ganguly said, “I wish I was there to work on the series, but my other commitments prevent me from doing so. It is going to be a great series, and I will be up early in the morning from Perth to watch the match.” Talking about India's prospects, Ganguly recently mentioned the poor performance against New Zealand. He said that India also suffered losses due to the condition of the pitches. He clarified, “India has great bowlers like Ashwin, Jadeja, Kuldeep, Axar and Washington. They don't need pitches that spin a lot and make batting difficult.”

Ganguly stressed the need for balanced pitches, which would allow a fair contest between bat and ball. He said, “Test matches should not end in three days. The pitches should be such that the matches last for five days and the players get a chance to show their ability.” Rejecting the whitewash predictions, he said that India will compete with full strength in this series. “It will be an exciting series. India has the potential to compete, and I hope the pitches will be better.”
